Italian ISP NGI deploys WiMAX
The Israeli equipment vendor Alvarion has been selected to provide a WiMAX wireless broadband network to Italian ISP NGI. Alvarion will deploy its BreezeACCESS and BreezeNET wireless broadband solutions in the regions of Lombardy, Veneto and Piedmont in Northern Italy, covering an area of approximately 15,000 square kilometres. NGI is targeting areas where wired broadband networks have poor coverage, with networks being rolled out in around 1,100 municipalities
