Motorola Works On Paris WiMAX Network With Bollore Telecom

Motorola Inc. said Thursday it has deployed a trial WiMAX network providing high-speed broadband services in Paris with Bollore Telecom, a unit of holding company Bollore SA. The pilot scheme will help Bollore Telecom, which holds 12 WiMAX licenses in France, to design and assess its WiMAX network before its commercial deployment, Motorola said in a statement. WiMAX is a broadband wireless access technology that can handle video conferencing, television viewing and high-speed data transmission. Bollore Telecom also has a WiMAX trial under way in Paris with Alcatel-Lucent (ALU).
