Telsima Intros WiMAX 450 MHz / 700 MHz BWA Solution

Telsima has announced its WiMAX 450/700 MHz BWA Solution that delivers Internet, voice, and multimedia services over a wireless broadband link to remote users.

The Telsima solution is an end- to-end communication solution for operators that have a frequency license between 400 MHz and 1 GHz. The solution can be customized for any specified band within that range — by default it supports the 450 MHz and 700 MHz bands. This standard WiMAX SoC-based solution leverages all the benefits of this open standard point-to-multipoint technology, making way for unmatched set of rich features at low cost.

According to Burcak Beser, CTO Telsima , 450 MHz and 700 MHz bands have excellent signal propagation characteristics, a fact that makes them ideal choices for communication networks.

Beser explained that when compared to the typical 3.5 GHz based BWA systems, a sub-GHz band-based network requires approximately 18 times less infrastructure per square kilometer coverage. This solution is, thus, especially attractive for areas with low population or for operators planning to provide country-wide Internet access.

The new Telsima WiMAX 450/700MHz platform delivers VoIP, video services, and high-speed data, coupled with low cost, which is fundamental to making the rural operator’s business case sustainable. Beser points out that with nomadic and mobility support, the Telsima 450/700 MHz solution also addresses those operators who plan for mobile Internet access services.
